Sensor «3+1» with external electrode is designed to measure the depth of cracks than 30 mm.
This sensor has 4 electrodes, 3 of which are arranged in one row, and 1 current electrode is external.
The external electrode allows you to increase the voltage, thereby expanding the measurement range of crack depth to 100 mm.

Before each use of the device for measuring the depth of cracks on the product, it is necessary to check its operation on a control sample.
Stages of crack depth measuring
- Setting of the “0” – measuring on fl awless location of the object.
- Measuring of crack depth – contact electrodes are located on the opposite sides of the crack, measurement result in mm is shown on the screen.
Requirements for control objects
- Surface roughness – below or equal to 40 Rz (10 Ra).
- Stable electric contact with the sensor electrodes.
